Uncertain weather. The route changes, but the show goes on

The disturbance arriving over Aosta Valley in the next few hours has forced race director Marco Camandona, course director Roger Bovard and the staff of the Corrado Gex Ski Club to work overtime. Fresh snow is on the way for the Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême, which this year will be the ISMF World Championship and the only Italian leg of the La Grande Course.

Compared to the original program, for safety reasons, the inaugural race on Thursday will take place entirely on the side of La Thuile with the starting and finishing lines at the foot of the slopes (the public can get to the slopes by lifts. More information with detailed program on the official website and social media channels of the event).

The second and third day of race should remain unchanged. Details and vertical gains will be revealed only during tomorrow afternoon's briefing.

SURPRISES ALSO IN THE STARTING LIST:
From March 31st to April 2nd the towns of Arvier, Valgrisenche and La Thuile will host the most important race of the season. The biggest names in ski mountaineering and the best national teams are expected at the starting line. A total of 185 teams representing 15 different countries. Breaking news is that the Italian champion and current leader of the Cup, Michele Boscacci, has withdrawn from the race with flu. His partner Matteo Eydallin will race alongside Davide Magnini. This change in race reshuffles all the other Italian teams that will be composed by Robert Antonioli - Nadir Maguet and Alex Oberbacher - Henri Aymonod. All the other top teams are confirmed, among them stand out the French Xavier Gachet - William Bon Mardion and Samuel Equy - Matheo Jacquemoud, the Swiss Rèmi Bonnet - Werner Marti and the Austrian Jakob Hermann - Paul Verbnjak.

In the women's category, a super challenge is to be expected between France and Italy, with the couples Axelle Mollaret - Emily Harrop and the reigning world champions Alba De Silvestro - Giulia Murada facing each other. The second Italian team composed by Ilaria Veronese - Mara Martini will play the outsider role.

NOT ONLY RACES
For the entire duration of the Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême (from 30th March to 1st April) a real Mountain Village will be set up in the green area in the center of Arvier, making a meeting point for athletes and enthusiasts. Many of the best brands in the industry have already confirmed their presence. It will be an opportunity for companies to showcase their products and provide support to athletes. For the athletes this will be the chance to get to know the latest news in the field of equipment, sportswear and more. In the same area, a small TV studio will be set up for the WEB TV. After the race, it will live stream a comment on the race hosted by the sports journalist Silvano Gadin on the official website and social media channels starting from 5pm.
