Press release N. 2 : Bibs are flying off

Everybody is feeling a strong desire to enjoy real ski mountaineering, a strong desire to participate into the amazing classics. Indeed, in the last weeks the secretary of Corrado Gex ski club has literally been assaulted. To such a point, that the organising committee has almost reached the goal of 300 teams. To this regards we remind you that the entries will officially close on February 15th as planned.


The time of doubting and uncertainties is now over. On figures, there are still few available spots and few days to enrol.

The winning elements of a race, which has got to its 18th edition, are a healthy sport passion, highly spectacular alpine tracks, respect for the environment and a specific attention to the athletes. The Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême is about to reach another milestone, holding on to the values that characterized its birth and growth. A mixture of tradition, connection with the environment and the new trends that make this race in Aosta Valley a young and modern event, that everybody likes.


For the occasion a new social and captivating website has been presented. As a matter of fact is very easy to surf and is constantly updated. In these years Corrado Gex ski club has demonstrated to be in line with the times and has been able to promote and make Arvier and Valgrisenche known all over the world. A proof of it is that at the beginning of April more than 15 nations will be represented at the starting line.


Waiting for all the athletes there are 7000m of positive difference in height distributed on 75 km of real free ride (40 km of uphill, 32km of downhill and 5km of ridges). Three days of real ski mountaineering, high mountain landscapes beautiful as a postcard for a competition that is the most modern and the most extreme of the Italian races.


A specific attention to the athletes also means a wonderful participation prize for each of them. For the 18th edition the competitors will receive a vest in Polartec Powerstretch®, thanks to the precious collaboration between Millet and Polartec®, sponsors of the race.

In addition, the partnership with the University of physiotherapy has been strengthened. Thanks to it 70 students of the University of Physiotherapy of Torino, Novara-Fossano and of the University of the Italian Switzerland of Lugano will be in Arvier on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd. Seventy students, assisted by 10 teachers, will earn a training credit on the field by massaging the muscles of the athletes after each leg of the race (


Third leg of La Grande Course 2016 and stage of the Long distance World Cup, the event, drawn in the heart of Aosta Valley by Marco Camandona and the young of the Corrado Gex Ski Club, will see at the starting line also young athletes thanks to La Grande Course Jeunes circuit. The future of the world ski mountaineering will thus be able to face and taste the charm of a great classic on a shorter ski track with a reduced difference in height, but which will still be very challenging. It is important to remember that the young will be able to enrol until the end of February.
