To celebrate the 18th edition, Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême has opted for a rebranding, offering a website that is even more social, young and captivating than before.
New colours, news in three different languages, tons of pictures, possibility of downloading the videos of the race of 2014 in Italian and French, just to name some of the options given by this real 2.0 website.
The most interesting news for the ski mountaineering lovers is that it will be possible to officially enrol for 3 memorable days of races from January 1st 2016. Everybody will be looking for a bib and will save the date: 1st weekend of April. For everything else, the winning formula cannot be changed. The leitmotiv of an event, which is “extreme” not only for its name, stays the same: 300 teams, 600 athletes, 7000m of positive difference in height, distributed on 75km of real free ride (40km of uphill, 32km of downhill, 5km of ridges).
Marco Camandona, together with the young of Corrado Gex ski club, draws this event, which is the third leg of La Grande Course 2016, at the heart of Aosta Valley. The young will compete too thanks to tracks specifically chosen for tomorrow’s champions. Thus, Arvier and Valgrisenche municipalities are ready to be invaded again by a crowd of ski mountaineering lovers. Yes, because Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême is a worldwide event under every point of view. It is enough to say that athletes coming from 18 different countries attended the last edition.
Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême will not only consist of sport, competitiveness, tourism and promotion of the territory and its products, but it will also be an important showcase for the several companies that have invested with determination in an outdoor sport with a constantly increasing trend. The organisers of Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême have decided to display again the “Mountain Village Tour” given the positive feedbacks of the last edition. It won’t be only a set of expository stands, but a location between the lake and the castle where to meet and chat at the end of each leg. A place, which is beautiful as a postcard, where to relax, exchange opinions and discover all the new products there will be on the market the following winter.
So, Corrado Gex Ski Club is working hard to offer ski mountaineering lovers a thrilling weekend. Save the date: Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April. It doesn’t really matter whether you are athletes or simple enthusiast. An excursion to the top of Rutor and a free ride on the long-lasting downhill of “the most French” of the Italian races have to be on your to-do list if you are a free rider!
